Jurassic World: 8 Big Clues Hidden In The TV Spots

3. The Raptors Aren't Entirely Under Control

There was a lot of fan ire directed at the proposition of Velociraptors fighting for/alongside humans in Jurassic World, as was suggested by early trailers. But the TV spots released in the wake of those initial previews hint heavily at the fact that this isn't really the case at all. While the Raptors are shown to be basically behaving whilst in containment - one shot shows Owen stroking a Raptor with its head in a muzzle, for instance - the TV spots reveal they're still doing damage when unleashed. A particular jump-scare moment sees Claire driving Gray and Zach to safety, when a Velociraptor charges through the car window to snap at Claire as if she's prey. In one spot, there are even shots of raptors attacking the security team. Whatever the early rumours were, the TV spots confirm that the Raptors aren't entirely on the side of mankind after all, the implication here being that Owen's (Chris Pratt) trusted Velociraptors have merely been biding their time and acting out their compliance whilst in captivity, only to later turn on their captors when they're finally freed.
