Jurassic World: 9 Crazy Fan Theories (That Just Might Happen)
6. There'll Be An Ethics Subplot
Something that hasn't been explored much in the Jurassic Park films is the ethics of keeping the huge creatures in relative confinement. It's certainly something we could have expected to see explored in Jurassic World, although there haven't been any explicit clues that suggest this in the trailer. The ethics of keeping animals in zoos or marine parks is something that's been hitting the news regularly in the last few years. With all the controversy surrounding SeaWorld, the idea of marine life putting on shows for people isn't the most fashionable concept right now. In spite of this, that's exactly what the trailer portrays, as a huge Mosasaurus jumps up to grab a dangling shark - much to the excitement of the audience. If the scene exists purely as a piece of spectacle, then it's a puzzling choice considering the controversy.
