Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 12 Stupidest Moments In The Dumbest Jurassic Park Movie Ever

5. Owen's Insane Lava Dance

One of the weirdest and most offputting moments in the entire movie hearkens back to the idea that Owen's a bit of a superhero, and even when the script calls for him to be put in mortal danger, it's shrugged off with comedy or eyebrow-raising shtick.

During the volcanic eruption sequence - easily the highlight of the movie - Owen ends up being tranquilised by Mills' men, effectively being left to die during the chaos.

As a pool of lava starts to move towards Owen, he's woken up by the lick of a dinosaur's tongue, but his body remains paralysed from the tranquiliser. What can Owen do, of course, but awkwardly move the half of his body he can actually control?

What follows is a brief sequence with undeniable shades of the infamous Quaalude scene from The Wolf of Wall Street, where Owen throws half of his body away from the lava like a ragdoll until he finally regains control of his body.

There is just one example of the movie's wavering tone and absolute inability to decide what it really wants to be. It derails what could've been a legitimately tense and terrifying experience, sacrificing the set-up for a quick "laugh."
