The mention of the Fast & Furious franchise was no accident, as there's always going to be an element of the Jurassic Park fandom who buy tickets to see the dinosaur action, just as F&F fans will come in for car chases and stunts. And for them, Fallen Kingdom will deliver.

There's lots of dinosaur on dinosaur and dinosaur on human action and the volcano sequence, in particular, is great.

On top of that, JA Bayona brings horror credentials that make the Indoraptor/mansion sequence one of the film's real highlights. Seeing him apply what he's learned in that genre to a dino-stalk set-piece in which the Indoraptor is basically a Michael Myers clone is really great and it lands all of its punches.

So, if you're in it for the spectacle alone, you won't be disappointed.
