2. It Is So Stupid It Hurts

Make no mistake, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will make you lose IQ points. It is one of the flat-out dumbest blockbuster movies of all time, which is only made worse by the fact that it's so rooted in science. It's like trying to watch a Ted Talk from Paris Hilton on genetics.

Every character does something so idiotic your eyes will roll into your head, particularly when most of them are mistakes that have happened almost identically in the four movies before this. The same idiots are still meddling with playing God, the same corporate idiots are still trying to make money by making things that want to eat them, the same idiots are still putting themselves in danger when a logical decision would avoid it...

Obviously in this sort of movie you have to make your characters do silly things to serve the plot, or it would all be over without any spectacle at all in minutes. But there are better ways than this to mask it. There is literally a bit where two human characters do a blood transfusion between two dinosaurs, with the set-up including one of them revealing that they did a First Aid course and then just somehow being able to extract blood from a T-Rex thanks to it.

It's like a bloody spoof.
