Jurassic World Reviews: 10 Early Reactions You Need To Know

4. The Story Is Silly And Predictable

One of the reviews for Jurassic World on IMDB includes the line, " If my description of the plot Is pretty simplistic,it's because the story is that simple." While simplicity is not necessarily a bad thing, the general consensus regarding the plot for Jurassic World is that a little more depth and a few more surprises would have been nice. Jurassic World seems to have taken another leaf out of the Jurassic Park playbook by roughly splitting the film into two halves, the first of which is concerned with world-building while the second unleashes the dinosaurs and focuses on action. It's a tried and trusted approach to tentpole movies, sure, but hardly one which inspires originality or encourages fresh ideas. As one reviewer put it, "While having both Steven Spielberg's original two films as inspiration is a good way to create a Jurassic sequel, it's not original," suggesting that ultimately it feels more like a reboot or remake. Not necessarily a terrible thing, but don't go in expecting anything too groundbreaking.
