3. It Means We Get To See More Christian Bale As Batman (And Particularly Bruce Wayne)
Look, silly growly voice aside, I will never for a second complain about the idea of seeing more of Bale in the cowl, and particularly in Bruce Wayne's business suit. Even more than bringing an animal ferocity (and laryngitis) to the role of Batman, Bale's greatest strength in the role has arguably always been his performance as Bruce Wayne, who suddenly became much more than "that boring dude who kills time on screen until Batman shows up". Bale and Nolan finally managed to make the onscreen Bruce Wayne as complex, sympathetic, lost, strong, angry and heroic as his comic book counterpart; the idea that that Bruce Wayne could come back isn't just good news for viewers, it's good news for the genre. In a comic book slate where characters are increasingly becoming one note (the valiant hero, the hot shot daredevil, the mysterious rogue), more time spent with a character as rich as Bruce Wayne never hurt anybody -- particularly with an actor of Bale's caliber.
