4. Batman (Especially Bale's Batman) Meeting Superman For The First Time Is An Event For The Ages
Look, to be fair -- Man of Steel hasn't come out yet, so we don't know. We don't know if it's any good, if it's going to be a hit, if it's going to be well received. There's always the possibility it'll be a train wreck, that it'll crash and burn at the box office, that the critics will tear it to shreds -- I highly doubt that, but still...it's a possibility. Keeping all that in mind -- Superman, whether people love him or think he's outdated, is inarguably the most iconic superhero of all time. He's the reason superheroes are called superheroes. Batman is pretty handily the the most widely liked "superhero", and as I keep reiterating, he's the star of a ridiculously successful franchise. Having
that Batman meet Superman? That's Geek nirvana -- and only made sweeter because, until very recently, it was something that we all assumed couldn't possibly happen. And hell, let's say Man of Steel is as good as it looks like it'll be -- is as good as it has the potential to be -- and spawns a hugely successful franchise itself. Suddenly we're not just talking about two successful franchises doing a crossover; we're talking about two
cultural institutions getting together for the first time on film. You've gotta think Bale and Nolan are a little bit interested in continuing that legacy.
