Justice League: 10 Things It Should Have Done Differently
2. Brought In A New Director
It became clear from the fallout from Man of Steel and Batman v Superman that Warner Bros no longer shared Zack Snyder's vision for its superhero franchise, so the studio should have forced him to take a backseat there and then, in favour of bringing fresh directorial blood to the series.
Justice League's uneven tone is a result of the reshoots the firm ordered to get the movie how they wanted it, and this could have been achieved in a more cohesive, less messy way had they enlisted the services of Joss Whedon from the start, or handed the reins to Patty Jenkins after the success of Wonder Woman.
When Warner hired Snyder, they invested in a vision, one that would serve as the foundation for its cinematic world, but it was apparent from Man of Steel that those foundations were rocky and rooted in style over substance.
They left it too late to retreat from the direction their universe steward had ushered them in, and should have heeded the early warnings the Superman reboot flagged up. A directorial switch-up before Justice League entered development could have averted the tonal imbalance and brought a fresh, new influence to the franchise.
