Justice League: 10 Things That Have Threatened To Ruin The Hype

1. Post Batman v Superman Anxiety

It's pretty fair to say that Justice League started on a poor foundation as soon as Batman v Superman (and Suicide Squad) were so divisive (or disastrous in Squad's case). Cynics flocked to decry the end of the DCEU before it had even gotten off the ground properly, and Justice League started to be written off immediately.

There was surely no way Zack Snyder would be able to make a Justice League movie that avoided all of the issues of Batman v Superman (because he was using the same characters, the same mythology and the same style, inevitably). That big fight movie was positively soaked in Snyder's style of film-making, and he is so locked into his style that deviation would be as unlikely as Quentin Tarantino suddenly making a silent movie.

Even early talk of Warner Bros pressurising Snyder to change his tone didn't go far enough for the cynics - and went too far for those who wanted more of Snyder's vision. And their input was hardly welcome after wide-spread rumours of heavy meddling on Suicide Squad.

As starting points went, it was hardly a positive one.
