Justice League: 10 Things That Have Threatened To Ruin The Hype

Just when it looked like Warner Bros had brought in a stable set of hands to replace Zack Snyder as he left to deal with family tragedy, with Joss Whedon, the Avengers director saw some choice dirty laundry aired very publicly.

With almost stunningly bad timing for Justice League, Whedon's ex-wife Kai Cole ran a guest post on The Wrap, alleging that he repeatedly cheated on her over their 16-year marriage, and revealing who he truly is (the kind of man who blames affairs on the "pressures of the patriarchy"):

"I want to let women know that he is not who he pretends to be... I want the people who worship him to know he is human, and the organizations giving him awards for his feminist work to think twice in the future about honoring a man who does not practice what he preaches."

In her account, rather than the feminist he appears to be in public, there's a different side to him:

"There were times in our relationship that I was uncomfortable with the attention Joss paid other women. He always had a lot of female friends, but he told me it was because his mother raised him as a feminist, so he just liked women better. He said he admired and respected females, he didn’t lust after them. I believed him and trusted him. On the set of Buffy, Joss decided to have his first secret affair."

The news was a blow to Warner Bros, who refused to comment, but as an indication of what it meant to Whedon's image, popular fansite Whedonesque almost immediately ceased publication.
