7. Wonder Woman's Success

Bizarrely, the success of Wonder Woman was used surprisingly widely as an indicator that Warner Bros desperately needed to refocus Justice League and bring the new biggest star of the DCEU into far greater focus.

Rather than welcoming to news of a huge success for the DCEU, reports instead decided to reframe the news of reshoots and additional photography under Joss Whedon as an added response to the pressure heaped on by Wonder Woman's success. A positive for the franchise was seemingly spun out into an inconvenient pressure.

It was all a little ridiculous, but it fed into the idea that the studio was struggling with Justice League, and they didn't want to be overshadowed by a stand-alone, female-led movie. Which is a laughably cynical reading, but it definitely held some water in the cinema community.

The reality is that Wonder Woman's success will do nothing more than making Justice League a bigger hit and a more comfortable bet for anyone wavering on it who loved Wonder Woman.
