8. Darkseid Takes Over Superman And The World

Having decimated the Green Lantern Corps, Darkseid then invades Earth in the middle of the film, but not on his own.

He kidnaps Superman and brainwashes him and uses the newly-evil Kryptonian (an idea that seemingly just won't go away) to lead his invasion. And that would have led to a Batman v Superman showdown, in which Bats would have donned The Dark Knight Returns-style heavy armour to fight the Man Of Steel. Just as he did in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

The pair do the dance, but Wonder Woman ends up releasing Superman from Desaad's control and the Blue Boyscout joins the fight against Darkseid, which sounds pretty similar to how he comes to fight Steppenwolf in Justice League.
