Justice League: 7 Reasons To Be Positive About The DCEU’s Future

3. Every Single Hero Has Vocal Supporters

Ask anyone who's seen Justice League what the best thing about it is, and they'll probably say that it's the heroes themselves.

Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Flash, and Superman were all given ample screen time and a moment or two to shine, and because the characters are literally the foundation of this entire movie universe, having general audiences appreciate them is a big win for the DCEU.

What's even better is that it's easy to find fans of each hero by themselves. Some people think Ben Affleck's Batman is the best incarnation of the character we've ever seen. Some people enjoyed Cyborg's troubled backstory. Some people found Flash's humour amusingly relatable. Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Superman are also well-liked by many. All this goodwill bodes very well for any future solo movies.

This is also one area where the DCEU can claim a small victory over the MCU. After that first Avengers movie, everyone was high on Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America, but Hawkeye struggled to find the same support. Nobody really cared for Quicksilver in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and until Ragnarok, Thor was always considered the dullest member of the team.

Justice League doesn't really have a problem like this - its six main heroes each stand out in their own unique way. Yes, the movie has some severe problems, but the one thing it needed to get right - its lead characters - it did get right.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
