Justice League: 8 Theories On How Superman Will Return

1. The Scout Ship's Genesis Chamber

The Theory

Just as General Zod was brought back from the dead (albeit as Doomsday) in Batman v Superman using the Kryptonian technology at the crash-site in Metropolis, Superman's body could be taken to the ship and revived.

Obviously, that would require someone to do it, but there are plenty of people who would have an interest in that - A.R.G.U.S., Batman, Steppenwolf and Lois Lane chief among them. And it's not like that tech has been destroyed yet...

Likelihood

In the DCEU, the crashed Kryptonian Scout Ship is basically the stand-in for Superman's Fortress Of Solitude, which traditionally was where he went to recuperate. That absolutely fits the billing for his haven, and the foundation that Lex Luthor has already used the genesis chamber to basically "revive" Zod into Doomsday does set a precedent.

Obviously, some would say he would come back as antoher Doomsday type monstrosity, but that creature was an abomination because of the way Luthor revived him, and Superman is special. Plus, him initially "coming back wrong" would absolutely fit the Frankenstein allegory.
