Justice League Film: 10 Epic JLA Stories That Should Be Referenced

7. The Nail (Alan Davis)

The Nail is an absolutely superb alternate Earth story (by that I mean it isn't set in DC's main canon and therefore wasn't bound to main canon continuity at the time) in which superhero xenophobia runs rampant, perpetuated by anti meta-human propaganda from Perry White (editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet) and Lex Luthor, who here is Mayor of Metropolis. Now, I'm not saying that a direct adaptation of the The Nail would necessarily work. For example here, Kal-El still has superhuman levels of power, but was raised by an Amish couple instead of Jonathan and Martha Kent and as a result never became the Man of Steel. Which of course wouldn't work for the Justice League movie. What I would however like to see from The Nail make it it screen though is the chaos that's brought about by Luthor's campaign against the superhumans, which in turn causes desperation and in-fighting amongst not just the League, but Earth's entire meta-human community.
