5. Scope and Reasoning
If youve ever read anything on the Justice League in a graphic novel, or a monthly publication, then youll know that the storylines can and often do venture into wtf?! territory (especially if Grant Morrison is at the helm). There are 52 separate dimensions in the DC universe; several timelines and continuities, and even a separate sub-atomic universe (which the Atom can shrink down and traverse). This is just the tip of the iceberg. Whoever takes on the Justice League franchise needs to be able to delve in to all of that, and somehow recreate it or at least some of it on screen, in some satisfying a cohesive way. Take a look at this trailer for the epic-looking Cloud Atlas, the new era-spanning movie from the Wachowskis: http://youtu.be/hWnAqFyaQ5s Cloud Atlas is the Wachowskis upcoming time spanning adventure, and while Im not suggesting a Justice League movie should necessarily play with time in this way, but this is definitely the sort of scope and reasoning it needs if its to encapsulate the tone of the comics.
