Justice League Film: Casting Earth’s Protectors

4. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) - Matt Bomer

Matt Bomer is known for his role as Neal Caffrey on the USA drama White Collar. He portrays a brash, headstrong, and sometimes arrogant individual. Those three mentioned qualities all embody Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. Jordan is a brash young test pilot who is given this great intergalactic power. Although, he whole heartedly accepts and performs his duty, he does so in a haughty way. Nevertheless, Jordan will go above and beyond in what he believes in. One of his best assets is his refusal to admit defeat even in the worst of times. He€™ll break the rules if he believes it€™ll save lives. Neal Caffrey does the same. Bomer has portrayed his ability to be the rash hero with a good heart many times on White Collar. That€™s who Green Lantern is. Through all of his arrogance and stubbornness he€™s a hero who just wants to do morally good. Bomer€™s a young talent who could really break out on the big screen. All he needs is a chance. If you watch his character on TV you can€™t help but think, that€™s Green Lantern. Also, Bomer has been considered for the role of Superman many times. Overall, Bomer has that look; an impetuous young man who€™s itching for action. That€™s Hal Jordan. Personally, I didn€™t like Ryan Reynolds interpretation. Green Lantern is a serious guy. I do blame the weak story and script more than I do Reynolds, but I think his name overshadowed the role. Bomer looks like he could be on the Hollywood A- list. Look at Chris Hemsworth with Thor. He€™s a well-known actor now but he doesn€™t overshadow his character. He is Thor. That could be Bomer. As I€™ve mentioned before, you need someone who€™s lesser known and looking for a breakout role to do the job. Matt Bomer is it. Notable Mention: Jensen Ackles & Andrew Lincoln
