Justice League Movie: 10 Alternate Heroes We'd Love To See
7. Black Canary
There frankly aren't enough female superheroes, and chances are Wonder Woman will be the only one DC adapts for quite some time, and that's if they give her a solo movie. However, one character totally deserving of a big screen adaptation is Black Canary, who could add some much needed diversity to the mostly-male casts of these films and kick a lot of ass in the process. Black Canary, AKA Dinah Laurel Lance, is one of DC's earliest superheroines, first appearing in 1947, and has been a prominent member of the Justice League, Justice Society of America, and Birds of Prey. There have been several versions of the character, some with powers, some without. In the beginning, she was simply a powerless crime-fighter who would pose as a criminal in order to take down criminal organizations. Later, she became a master martial-artist with the Canary Cry: a high-powered sonic scream that could shatter objects and incapacitate enemies. Right now Black Canary is a recurring character on the CW show Arrow, where she's been highly well received by audiences and if the TV universe ties in with the cinematic one, she could easily make transition from the small screen to the silver screen. DC is often criticised for having too many "God-like" characters, and Zack Snyder will need to find ways to balance the team's superpowers in order to make the film compelling. Throwing Black Canary, a pretty normal human being, into the mix would be one way to accomplish that.
