Justice League Movie: 10 Villains Zack Snyder Could Use Instead Of Darkseid

7. Prometheus

Bruce Wayne's origin story is perhaps the most famous in comic book history. The death of his parents at the hand of a mugger in Crime Alley propelled him to dedicate his life to truth and justice. That's part of what makes Prometheus such a cool villain, as his origin is the complete opposite. Prometheus was the unnamed son of two hippie parents, who went on the run after committing murder and theft. They traveled across the United States and were eventually cornered and killed by law enforcement. Prometheus then silently vows to "annihilate the forces of justice" and get revenge for his dead parents. Prometheus uses his parents' hidden caches of money to travel the world and develop his skills; becoming an underground pit-fighter in Brazil, a mercenary in Africa, and a member of a terrorist group in the Middle East. Eventually he joins a secret sect of evil monks in the Himalayas, and discovers that the monastery had been built on an alien spaceship. Prometheus kills the leader of the sect, obtains the "Ghost Key" to the vessel, and opens the Ghost Zone, a hyperspace void that allows for interstellar travel. Over time, Prometheus becomes a formidable foe for the Justice League (and is famous for slicing off the arm of Green Arrow's sidekick, Arsenal). He doesn't possess any powers, but developed an extensive range of equipment and technology that he would use against them, including body armor, projectile-firing gauntlets, and a helmet that allows him to download the knowledge and physical skills of his opponents directly to his brain. Batman is often regarded as a formidable opponent to many members of the DC Comics universe. Just imagine what would happen if a more evil version of him were out there!
