12. Robin/Nightwing - Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Yes, the onomastic in-joke at the end of The Dark Knight Rises was no more than fan-bait (and the long-run pay-off of Christopher Nolan's vociferous denial that Robin would ever appear in his franchise), but that doesn't mean the suggestion of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman's sidekick wasn't frustratingly brilliant. For his own part, Gordon-Levitt has denied any and every rumour that he will reprise his role, in a new suit, for a Justice League movie, and he seems to continue to be as definitive as when asked during the
press for Premium Rush:
Screen Rant: Have you seen the Justice League script that Will Beall is working on, or had any meetings with WB about being a part of their superhero universe? Levitt: Nope. No the answers no.
But the actor has everything - including the profile within the fan community - to make him the perfect Bat-sidekick, whether that's Robin, or Nightwing, who would probably fit the Nolan-infused iteration of the Batman character that will likely fit into Snyder's own starker world. And crucially, in his hands, Robin or Nightwing wouldn't be an after-thought, tagged on for a few teenage feels and some awful one-liners.
