11. Aquaman - Matt Damon
Rumours have surfaced recently that the Affleck collaborator has been lined up to play one of the most notoriously - and unfairly - mocked members of the Justice League. Some have immediately rubbished the rumour, since Matt Damon probably doesn't need the role as much as his apparent career stagnation might suggest (he remains an eminently bankable property even in poor films), but his casting would be a strong move. He has the charisma and the enduring charm to pull off a character who is probably going to need to be aligned more with Superman's temperament in order to avoid a snark overload with Batman, Green Lantern and the Flash potentially all going for that angle. Even if Damon is not cast, the implied statement of intent suggests that the casting team are looking in the right sort of places for Aquaman. He has typically been criticised in the past, and lambasted as a potential solo movie lead, but having someone of the stature of Damon in the role would make for a considerable boost in confidence in the character.
