Justice League Movie: 5 Reasons Why It'll Be Better Than The Avengers
1. The Characters Themselves
The Avengers gave us a varied group of superhuman individuals who were brought together for a cause by the outside forces of Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. This isnt the case for The Justice League of America.
The members of the JLA decided to band together, and took it upon themselves to be the first frontier of Justice on Earth. This sets them apart from The Avengers, as they are responsible for their actions and all the consequences that follow. This distinction allows for a completely different group dynamic than the one seen in The Avengers.
The Justice League chooses to work together, not because they have to, but because they want to. Everyone in the group have something in common which binds them as a group and opens themselves up to working with each other, despite their different personalities. Both Superman & Martian Manhunter are the sole survivors of a dead race. Batman & The Flash have origins tied into the death of their parents. Wonder Woman & Superman have adopted American symbolism into their personal moral codes. Batman uses fear as a weapon while Green Lantern has to overcome it.
This dynamic, while may seem boring in comparison to the always bickering Avengers, just might make for a Justice League movie that doesnt need to spend its time with the characters being at odds with one another. Instead we can right away show us a team dynamic of heroes that work together and are better equipped to handle the in-story threat, while still providing enough tension to keep things interesting. Chemistry doesnt necessarily need to translate into butting heads or conflict between the characters, just for the sake of being able to triumphantly overcome them later on.
Well thats it for my knee jerk analysis of why a Justice League movie will kick The Avengers right in their arc reactor. Most of my reasons are more practical and from the commercial perspective. Im sure there are a thousand other story, cast and creative reasons why Justice League will be better than The Avengers. Or maybe not.
