Justice League: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

1. This Is A New Age For The DCEU

Although there's plenty to think about coming out of Justice League, one thing's for sure: the DCEU will never be the same again. After four movies of build up, these characters are finally where they need to be, saving people and working together as a powerful unit.

Lighthearted humour has replaced the overly-serious mood hanging over everything, and it's clear that the franchise is moving into a more family-friendly and optimistic phase. Hopefully it will still retain the grand stakes and the spectacle of previous movies, but the new focus is obviously on presenting heroes as heroes, rather than angsty teenagers playing dress up.

Likewise, there's probably a good chance fans will see the passing of the torch for a new generation. Justice League essentially marked the end of "phase 1" of the DCEU, and would be the perfect time to shake off the baggage it's amassed until now. Ben Affleck is almost certainly a goner, and it wouldn't be a surprise if the likes of Amy Adams and possibly even Henry Cavill jumped ship too.

Still, that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Justice League has ushered in a new age for the DCEU, and a fresh rebirth could be exactly what it needs.
