Katee Sackhoff To Star In CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK Sequel

24 actress will play Dahl, a Nordic killer for hire on the hunt for Riddick in the soon to be shooting threequel.

Universal have revived production plans on the stalled Chronicles of Riddick sequel. The film's development hit the brakes late last year when production offices in Montreal were shut down for two months over financial complications but work has been revived and the sequel should begin shooting soon under the direction of franchise helmer David Twohy (Pitch Black & Chronicles of Riddick). He also wrote the script. Deadline reveal that TV actress Katee Sackhoff (24, Battlestar Galactica) has landed the female lead role opposite returning marquee star Vin Diesel. Sackhoff will play Dahl, a Nordic killer for hire on the hunt for Riddick. Actor Karl Urban had attached himself to the film but with the delay may have pulled out due to reprising his Dr. McCoy role in the impending Star Trek 2 that shoots soon but we don't have confirmation on that yet. Former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista has also been rumoured for a part. No official synopsis yet but there are rumours that the threequel will find Riddick alone on an isolated planet and fighting against alien predators and bounty hunters out for his life. All the while he must save Furya from annihilation.
