Katherine McPhee to make acting debut in Indie comedy

052506_mcphee300.jpgThe latest singer to take up acting is American Idol runner up Katherine McPhee. The Hollywood Reporter are telling us that McPhee will make her feature acting debut in the Indie romantic comedy The Last Caller budgeted at around $5-8 million.
Penned by Michael Albanese, the story is described as a coming-of-age tale about a self-obsessed woman (McPhee) who searches for love, hope and meaning during a few random events with other urban seekers.
Surprisingly the film won't include any singing and she goes onto to claim that she was offered some bigger roles in studio movies but turned them down because she wanted to start her acting with a role that no-one was expecting of her. I have no clue who this girl is. We do get American Idol over here but I've watched it. I do remember her name coming up in regards to the Wonder Woman movie but those rumors were quickly shot down at the time. Shooting on The Last Caller begins in New York this fall.
