Kingsman 2: 8 Huge Predictions For The Golden Circle

6. The Statesman Will Be More Akin To The Pinkertons Than The CIA

Pinkerton, or the Pinkerton Nation Detective Agency, is a private detective agency established in the United States by Allan Pinkerton in 1850. Its history is storied, but it became famous after the alleged foiling of a plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. After this, Lincoln actually hired Pinkerton agents as his personal security for the duration of the Civil War.

In essence, Pinkerton were a rather shady operation, keeping themselves private and working under their own control. It's likely that the Statesman seen in Kingsman 2 will be an offshoot or spiritual replica of the Pinkertons, unbound by the American government and helming a more covert, anarchic operation. As fans of the first film know, Kingsman 2 is likely to get pretty crazy, so it's probable the Statesman will not so much parallel the swift, efficient and clean cut image of the C.I.A. as it will the mysterious and ruthless Pinkertons.

But this could lead to some seriously fantastic results. Nobody goes into a Matthew Vaughn film expecting neat and efficient conflict. An anarchic group of loud-mouthed Americans attempting to fight for the greater could would be a fantastic chance for crazy action set pieces, especially if the group presented themselves as your typical C.I.A.-esque operation and then let loose with brutal violence when it came to completing their task.
