Knives Out Review: 9 Ups & 1 Down
8. The INCREDIBLE Ensemble Cast
It goes without saying that Knives Out boasts an insanely enviable cast, and every single member of the roster gives it their absolute all in order to bring Johnson's exuberant vision to life.
We'll talk more about Daniel Craig and Ana De Armas' fine work later, but there are some great supporting roles here for the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon and Don Johnson in particular.
These characters all feel distinctly drawn and their interactions between one another, if often disappointingly brief, are uniformly excellent.
There are smaller appearances from a number of terrific actors: Johnson's lucky charm Noah Segan is hilarious as a Trooper investigating Harlan Thrombey's (Plummer) murder, while Yoda himself, Frank Oz, has a brief-but-memorable role as the lawyer at Harlan's will reading.
Hell, the legendary M. Emmet Walsh even shows up for a single scene as the groundskeeper of Harlan's estate.
And while not all of these great actors are served equally by Johnson's script, they ensure the film is always dynamic and unpredictable.
