Kristen Stewart Turns Down Lois Lane Audition For SUPERMAN Reboot
Updated: Kristen Stewart's reps have told People she has never met with Zack Snyder for the movie or had any offers thrown her way to turn the Lois Lane role down;
"There are a number of fabricated stories circulating," says the rep. "The fact is that she has not met on this film nor has she been approached for this film."I wonder if they are also referring to Stewart's circling of Snow White and the Huntsman? Our original article follows...The NYDaily News are reporting that Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has declined the opportunity to audition for the major part of Lois Lane inZack Snyder's Superman reboot, which of course it was announced on Sunday would be led by Brit actor Henry Cavill as The Man of the Steel. The specific reasons cited (via a source close to Snyder) are that after having spent the last few years living with absolute no privacy as Twilight's Bella, with her every day movements scrutinized, debated and splashed across the tabloids and on the web - she now wants to focus on 'smaller, independent films'., etc. And well, it goes without saying she's in a comfortable career position where she certainly doesn't need the money or the exposure a Superman role would give her. Just 24 hours earlier, What's Playing announced that Malin Akerman (who should instantly be ruled out because of her role in DC's Watchmen), Glee's Dianna Agron (who circled Gwen Stacy), Jessica Biel (who auditioned but lost the Catwoman role to Anne Hathaway in Nolan's Batman 3), and the only choice on the list which seems to make sense... Rachel McAdams, had already read for the Daily Planet's feisty female reporter or were due to audition. But there's new names added to the fray today. The NYDaily News, in the same Stewart article, have mentioned that Black Swan actress Mila Kunis has emerged as another potential candidate for the part - and she's not a name I would have plucked out of the air - but I like it. Then, Latino Review reported that Tron Legacy actress Olivia Wilde has already auditioned but she has commitments to other movies, most notably the Eric Bana led crime thriller Kin - she may have to drop out of the running. Again, Wilde is another choice I like... still my first choice is, shocking I know, another Brit - Rebecca Hall. Come on Snyder, give her a call... Expect lots more Lois Lane potentials to emerge over the coming days...
