Kurt Russell: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

5 Awesome Performances...

5. Gabriel Cash - Tango & Cash

A wonderfully dated buddy comedy from the late eighties, Tango & Cash teamed Kurt with Sylvester Stallone as two cops who are framed for murder. The plot is nonsense and time has not been kind to it, yet the chemistry of the two actors makes it easy to watch. Russell is a big part of that, with his character being so insanely likeable that he can get a laugh out of even the lamest joke. A scene where his supposed good guy tortures a suspect using a chair should logically make him look like a jerk, yet he remains completely charming. Russell recognised the movie is a parody of the genre, so he€™s free to let his inner clown loose. It€™s a testament to his skills that the dignity free sequence where he has to dress as a woman €“ complete with leather dress €“ is still hilarious thanks to his commitment. It may not be the best film of his career, but he and Stallone make for a surprisingly winning duo.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
