The Last Of Us Movie: 15 Key Scenes We Need To See
12. The Giraffes
This is a scene in the game where the animators really got to show off their craft. It will be a huge obstacle for the movie version to make this scene a good one with so many things going on in such a short period of time. Seeing the overgrown landscape of a city once thriving and well-populated now serve its purpose as a feeder for wild giraffes proved to be very memorable. This rang true after players dialled back and realised that the only signs of animals up until that point had been a handful of dogs. Ellie's attitude shifted completely after she discovered this. It left a very uneasy felling seeing her so out of it, but the giraffes had the same effect on the audience as it did her. They provided a much needed reminder of how life was before the outbreaks began. If the filmmakers even consider making an attempt at this scene it could very well be awkward and clunky since both the giraffes and the surrounding environment will probably be computer generated. Then again, recent marvels like Ang Lee's Life Of Pi have fared pretty well under similar circumstances where many considered the book to be unfilmable. With this in mind, bringing the action to the screen certainly seems more possible considering the setting will only be in the film for about a minute.
Hey, I'm Brandon. I love writing and reading and I study journalism, communication studies and business at the University of Rhode Island. My main passions are sports, music, TV, movies and a lot of other things that would take me way too long to write. WhatCulture is a great place for me to express myself so I'm looking to write as much as I can. Thanks for reading my work.
