The Last Of Us Movie: 15 Key Scenes We Need To See
13. Joel's Reunion With Tommy
The reason this scene is so important is because players of the game had no clue if Tommy was actually alive after so many years away from his brother. It was as good as a shot in the dark for Joel and Ellie to find him and while it wasn't a groundbreaking revelation that he was alive and well, it came as a bit of a surprise when the two saw each other for the first time since their falling out. The movie shouldn't make an attempt at providing a detailed description of why Tommy and Joel went their separate ways if it means they will be lacking on their encounter. However, this is one of the few sequences in the game where the studio might be able to get away with a couple of small additions. The situation between the two was left vague for a reason and bulking up their depart isn't as necessary as the fact that they went however many years not knowing if the other was dead or worse, made infected Being capable of cutting out the reason why Tommy joined the Fireflies and Joel stayed non-affiliated without lacking on any of the story shows true skill in storytelling. Screen Gems would be smart to realise this.
Hey, I'm Brandon. I love writing and reading and I study journalism, communication studies and business at the University of Rhode Island. My main passions are sports, music, TV, movies and a lot of other things that would take me way too long to write. WhatCulture is a great place for me to express myself so I'm looking to write as much as I can. Thanks for reading my work.
