LEGO Batman Movie: 75 Easter Eggs & References You Need To See
66. Suicide Squad Shade #1
The film takes a number of cheap (but very funny) swipes at the DCEU, starting early with inevitable barbs aimed at Batman v Superman (more of which later), and then at Suicide Squad. The first jab at David Ayer's film comes during Joker's attempt to destory Gotam using a mega-bomb that will destroy the city.
In a hilarious touch, Killer Croc is seen swimming under the city and arming the bomb, saying "hooray I did something!" as an obvious reference to the fact that his Suicide squad counterpart did nothing other than the same thing.
65. The Abyss
As the Joker's plan fantasy flash-forward mentions, Gotham is in peril because it's built on two flimsy plates that can be easily blown apart, sending everyone tumbling into the Infinite Abyss of Nothingness beneath it.
Despite how idiotic the idea of a city being built on such a site is, the scientist explaining that could happen shows a video of Emmet from the first LEGO Movie falling into the Abyss. Cruel, but a nice cameo all the same.
64. Joker's Teeth
The Joker's shark-like pointy teeth are clearly in homage to The Batman (the extremely good animated series that gets over-looked for Batman: The Animated Series, when it's definitely just as good) and the show's more feral version of Mr J...
Mercifully, they chose not to put a golden grill on him...
