Terrible, terrible movie; awesome performance from Liev Schreiber, who took over the role of Wolverine's half-brother and nemesis Victor Creed - otherwise known as Sabretooth - from actor Tyler Mane, who was not asked back after his fairly forgettable turn as the character in the original X-Men movie. So although X-Men Origins: Wolverine is one of the worst superhero movies of recent times, it would have been unfair to ignore the fact that Liev Schreiber made for an awesome Sabretooth - it's a shame he might not get the opportunity again, in fact. Sabretooth is a fairly iconic villain, of course, and Schreiber brings the right amount of anger and rage to the character, rendering him as something of a badass. The key to the success of his portrayal here likely stems from the fact that both Schreiber and co-star Hugh Jackman would egg each other on during filming, which helped to build up their on-screen relationship and rivalry. It also probably helped that Schreiber - a fairly large man as it is - put on 40lb to play Sabretooth. What's true is that he's just plain scary in this movie, and is also the best thing about it.
