Liev Schreiber: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked
3. Ray Johnson - The Ten
The Ten is really weird. Like, really, really weird. This comedy anthology (ugh, why are those even a thing anymore?) sets out to tell - would you believe? - 10 Bible-themed anecdotes, and somehow managed to rope the likes of Paul Rudd, Jessica Alba, Winona Ryder, Famke Janssen, Adam Brody, Gretchen Mol and yes - Liev Schreiber -along for the ride. Schreiber only appears in The Ten for about eight minutes, but his role is so rubbish that it bears mentioning here because why, Liev Schreiber? You could've spent a day reading Shakespeare instead! Liev's segment, titled "Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor's Goods" (haha?), tells the story of a police detective who covets his neighbours CAT scan machine. Seriously. Eventually, the story ends with a bunch of children dying in the street, but trust us... you don't want to know why that happens. Liev is on autopilot mode here, of course, because why wouldn't he be? He plays his police detective character with a degree of self-awareness and purposeful cliche, but it's not enough to hide the embarrassment lurking beneath his character's moustache. God have mercy.
