Liev Schreiber: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

2. Robert - Movie 43

Does Liev Schreiber have a secret thing for anthology movies? If not, how else do you explain why he agreed to appear in both The Tens and Movie 43, a comedy anthology so bad that it makes The Tens look like legitimate Biblical scripture? This is a tiny role in just one segment, of course ("Homeschooled"), but it would be wrong not to have it included because Schreiber needs to know that he shouldn't be wasting his time with this sh*t. What's interesting about this little turn also is the fact that he appears in the segment alongside his wife, Naomi Watts. Okay, so the premise for "Homeschooled" is that Schreiber and Watts - parents Robert and Samantha - decide to homeschool their children. Instead of being nice to their kids, though, they instead decide to recreate the actual hell that is high school, which includes bullying and name-calling. Could have been funny; falls kind of flat. Schreiber sits in and wears glasses and reads his lines like a good boy, but - given the material - there's no way for him to do anything with his performance that's even remotely interesting. Really, anybody could have played the part.
