The movie, which is set in the political snake-pit of Elizabethan England, stars Rhys Ifans as the Earl of Oxford and Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Elizabeth. The drama/thriller is distinct change of pace for director Emmerich, who's recent movies have included end of the world epics 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow.
