Locked Down Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

1. It's Super Predictable (But That's OK)

Locked Down Anne Hathaway Chiwetel Ejiofor

This isn't a movie which offers up much in the way of surprise, especially with how things turn out for Linda and Paxton, but you know what? That's totally fine, and to some, perhaps even preferable.

The film channels enough of the current global energy that, the familiarity of its narrative helps keep it the right side of comfort food: predictable, but in a context totally different to any pre-COVID rom-com.

At its core the film is less about sneaking surprises on the audience than it is accepting the spiritual toll of the pandemic, and how we can seek to claw some of it back - through connection with those around us.

A corny message it might seem, but honestly, in this deeply terrible year there are far worse things for movies to broadcast (looking at you, Michael Bay).
