There is really only one major reason to watch Locked Down, and that's the enticing performances of its lead actors.

As much as Anne Hathaway is frequently dragged for over-egging her performances, in this case her turn as a lively, manic CEO is the most magnetically watchable she's been in quite some time, clearly relishing the opportunity to chew through Knight's wordy monologues with all her acting might.

Ejiofor undeniably gets the less-showy, more subdued of the two roles, but he's effortlessly authentic as Linda's estranged husband, bringing just enough gallows humour to the table to be relatable, yet never so much as to be excessively morbid.

Together their chemistry sings, and ensures that even when the film grinds to a dramatic halt, there's something compelling on-screen to keep pushing things in the right direction.
