7. The Adamantium Bullet

A small but significant character thread running through the movie is Logan's possession of an adamantium bullet, which he carries around with him in case he becomes so world-weary he'd rather not live anymore, it being the only thing that can actually kill him.

How many other superhero movies can you think of where the protagonist is seriously contemplating suicide, and more to the point, it actually seems like a viable option after everything they've been through?

The bullet not only serves to deepen Logan's turmoil but also functions as a fantastic example of Chekhov's gun, as Laura ends up using the bullet to kill X-24 in the final battle, exploding his head as he prepares to kill Logan.
