Logan: 22 WTF Moments In Wolverine's Final Stand
3. The Useless Weapons
Even assuming that the mutant kids rejected their prime directive of turning into weapons, they were subjected to rigorous training designed to make their powers dangerous to their possible enemies. That much was established by the sequences showing them resisting and in some cases attempting to escape.
So why did the kids revert to innocent, terrified youngsters when they were confronted by the Reavers in the forest? Why didn't they turn and face them, knowing they had been conditioned to fight to the exact same degree that Laura had been? Sure, she had the advantage of her claws and a healing factor, but if the mutants had simply stood their ground, their powers would have been more than enough to stop the Reavers in their tracks.
Instead they just make it more difficult for Wolverine to save them and he ends up dead.
