Logan: 31 Easter Eggs & References You Must See
Not in the same universe? Yeah right.
Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has been a joy of a character for X-Men and comic book movie fans. Even in darker times - when Fox were determined to ruin Deadpool for everyone with X-Men Origins for instance - no negativity could justifiably be levelled at his performances. And now it's all gone: all that's left is shadows and dust and a daughter he never knew he had with a rather serious problem with aggression.
The time for mourning that character will come as soon as the appreciation for his stunning swan song dissipates. And quite wonderfully, that won't be for a long time, if there's any justice, because Logan is an incredible achievement. It is brutal - easily earning its R-rating - but it packs a far more emotional punch than its vicious streak, also earning the title of most devastating comic book movie ever. Those gut-punch moments are quite unlike anything you'll have ever seen.
And so much for it not being set in the same universe as the other X-Men movies: there are surprisingly a good few references back to those films, as well as Easter Eggs, nods to the comics, other cultural reference points and of course to Old Man Logan. That's if you can spot them through the tears...
