Logan: 31 Easter Eggs & References You Must See

7. Fawlty Towers

Fawlty Towers
BBC

In a brief moment of levity after the death and burial of Xavier - which Logan struggles to compose himself through (legitimately one of the most difficult moments to watch in the film), Logan attempts to leave abruptly, but struggles as the car they're driving breaks down.

He then channels British comedy legend Basil Fawlty (played by John Cleese, of course) and uses the only weapon he has at hand (in this case the spade he's just buried his mentor with) and beats the car up, letting out his rage. It might not be an intentional homage to the most famous Fawlty Towers moment, but it certainly inspires that feeling...

It may also be accidental, but the shot of Logan staring into the mirror is very reminiscent of the shot used of Michael Rooker for the poster for Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer
