29. The Samurai Sword

Having moved into the Mexican desert with Caliban and the ageing professor X, Wolverine now lives in a junkyard in meagre surroundings, with Professor X locked away in a destroyed water tower (referred to as The Tank by Caliban at one stage). It's a sorry existence, but despite Wolverine's attempts to cast off his cast, he does hold one memory dear enough to retain.

On the wall in the building they live in is a samurai sword, clearly referencing Wolverine's past life in Japan which was the focus of James Mangold's previous film with Jackman, The Wolverine. He's also very much of the lone samurai profile generally speaking.
