25. Caliban

One of the revelations of the film is Stephen Merchant's tragi-comic performance as albino mutant Caliban. We've seen him before as a character - and fairly recently - as he played the "finder" in X-Men: Apocalypse. Perhaps that's why he tells Pierce that he thinks he might have him confused with someone else?

It is mentioned at one point by Pierce that Caliban used to work for Alkali tracking mutants - a role he played to help found the Morlocks in the comics - and his swapping from villainy to the good side is an inversion of what happens in the Apocalypse storyline in the comics. There, he is seduced by the power offered by Apocalypse and becomes one of his Horsemen (specifically, Death).
