6. An X-23 Tease

It seems likely that Logan's story of family is going to end with one person at the very least safe from the Grim Reaper: Logan's clone Laura (or X-23 to give her her Sunday school name), and the question of what she does next has got to be a pertinent one.

If - as rumour suggests - she's left to fend for herself at the end of the movie, she's going to be facing a world just as harsh and unforgiving as the one Logan seeks to protect her from. And seeing a continuation of this Wolverine universe with someone else filling his shoes in a dusty, Western-inspired world has a lot of merit as an idea.

How Likely Is it?

Though he's said nothing is set in stone just yet, James Mangold says he would be very keen to see X-23 continue as a character, and that he'd like to handle any spin-off movie himself:

I think Dafne is incredible in the film and I would love to see another film about that character and that’s certainly something I’d be involved in. For me that was one of the big additions I brought to the table, this decision to try to make the film about family and to try to insert Laura and the pressures that would put and the idea about Charles ailing.

So why wouldn't he have left loose ends?
