Logan: Every Major Character Ranked From Worst To Best

12. The Corn Syrup Hicks

Logan Cowboys
Fox

Let's all be perfectly honest here, the "corn syrup is evil" is probably the least subtle and least successful part of the film, and while it ties to Shane as a primary influence on James Mangold's approach to the movie, it's little more than a distraction.

That makes it remarkably hard to care about the redneck corporate stooges introduced as antagonists for the Munson sub-plot. They're about as cliched as you're likely to find in a Western, drawing just short of calling Eriq La Salle's Will Munson "boy". They're good old boys, in a bad old boy outer casing, and their lack of screen-time makes it very clear that they're designed purely as cannon fodder to give X-24's arrival look even more brutal.

Sure, they're not difficult to dislike, but it's hard to really care about them too much when they're getting their heads sliced off.
