Furthering the movie's comparisons to the western genre is the fact that Logan looks absolutely, eye-wateringly gorgeous from the trailer's first frame to pretty much its last.
It no doubt helps that the movie is being shot by John Mathieson, who previously lensed X-Men: First Class, so he clearly has a handle on the visual language of the genre and franchise, even if this looks decidedly less like a comic book movie than pretty much anything else ever.
This is just another of many reasons why Logan looks like it's going to be an artistic triumph as much as an entertaining spectacle.
