Long Shot Review: 6 Ups & 2 Downs

1. The Excellent Ensemble Cast

Long Shot O Shea Jackson
Lionsgate

What would any studio comedy be without a stacked ensemble cast? This is one area where Long Shot really shines, with just about every supporting player giving a memorable performance that adds a ton of character to the movie.

First off we have O'Shea Jackson Jr., who plays Fred's slick wheeler-dealer pal Lance, making a game attempt to steal every scene he's in and damn-near succeeding.

Also terrific is June Diane Raphael as Charlotte's uptight staffer Maggie, Bob Odenkirk, who has a small but hilarious role as the Ronald Reagan-esque President of the United States, and Alexander SkarsgÄrd as the goofball Canadian Prime Minister.

It's an embarrassment of riches, honestly, and just about everybody rises to the occasion.
