6. The Witch-King Of Angmar - Return Of The King
The showdown between Eowyn and The Witch-King is one of the best fight sequences in the entire Middle-Earth saga. It's full of incredible action, emotion and an ending blow that has audiences all over jumping for joy.
As the Witch King moves forward to kill Théoden King of Rohan, Eowyn steps into place and begins a fight to the death with the intimidating figure. He unveils a large mace that terrifies our hero as she realises the fight that she is in for. After a compelling back and forth between the two, Eowyn finds herself compromised, as she is grasped by the throat. But soon Merry steps in and stabs the Witch-King from behind and he falls to his knees.
Then comes one of the most cathartic moments in the trilogy, when in response to the villains claims that "no man can kill me" Eowyn removes her helmet and confidently proclaims "I am no man!" before stabbing him and watching him perish.
The entire sequence builds up to the climax so well, and it's a fantastic validation of all the set-up that we have had with Eowyn.
